Private Piano Instruction
- Lessons are 45 minutes once a week: 30 minutes
one-on-one with the teacher at the acoustic piano and 15 minutes with computer
and/or electronic keyboard
- Lessons include the use of computer and electric
piano/keyboard to enhance theory drill, ear training, and ensemble playing
- Students attend a group lesson (in lieu of the
private lesson) at regularly scheduled intervals to gain confidence in playing
for others, and to use peer interaction for development of sight reading
skills, for drill in theory concepts, and for furthering creativity
- Participation of students in adjudications is
encouraged
- Playing in the Spring Recital is expected of all
students
- Summer lessons are offered and encouraged
